[Professional journey
My work and education experiences span the globe from North America, to Australia to Europe and South Africa. It began with an Equine Massage school in Virginia. Followed by “Where have all the Horseman Gone" in Washington State. While building my business as an equine therapist I completed the Equine Physiotherapy Program at Hadlow College in Greenwich England. And I certified with the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy in the U.K. Following that I traveled with The Para-Equestrian Team to Sidney Australia for the 2000 Olympic Games. From there I moved to Cape Town South Africa, and quickly found myself working with the top trainers and equestrian facilities. All the while keeping my connection to the para-equestrian community and joining them in qualifying competitions in Harpbury England, Brussels, Belgium and WEG in Kentucky. I moved back to the states in 2007 and eventually settled in NY.
I have a client base focused in the greater Tristate area and I travel to qualifying and sanctioned competitions for pre/post treatments and rehabilitation management.
My philosophy for treating the equine athlete is a multi-dimensional one, which has progressed through numerous degrees and certifications as well as work experiences on a national and international level. I work with equine professionls in holistic and traditional practices and i feel an important part of my skill lies in that circle of reference. I work closely with vets, farriers and trainers to create a winning team.
When i am not working with horses, i spend my time in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York with my 2 daughters, Hannah and Abby and my husband Gunter. We love to sail, ski and travel .
